About Me

Ali Can Keskin, software engineer

Software engineer with 4+ years shipping cross-platform XR clients and real-time streaming systems. Most of my work lives in C++ and Unity — WebRTC streaming, OpenXR, native client architecture — across HoloLens 2, Meta Quest, PICO, HTC Vive Focus 3, Magic Leap 2, Windows, Web, and Android.

Outside of work I gravitate toward game development, computer vision, software architecture, and keeping up with the latest in AI. I care about how things are built as much as what gets built: clean architecture, clear ownership, and code that holds up.

Beyond Code

Games

PC master race. Everything from competitive shooters to story-driven single-player. If it has good design, I'm in.

Music

Rock, metal, rap, pop, film soundtracks — no filter. Piano player, though the piano has been patient with me lately.

Sports

Football, basketball, table tennis, swimming, volleyball. Also chess — if that counts.

Series

Drawn to smart characters and darker tones — Person of Interest, Sherlock, that kind of thing.

Experience

JUN 2022 — PRESENT

Software Engineer

Hololight — Munich, DE

  • Led development of a unified Unity/C# front-end architecture powering enterprise XR streaming clients across 8+ devices (Meta Quest, PICO, HTC Vive Focus 3, HoloLens 2, Magic Leap 2, Desktop, Web)
  • Designed modular connection management, codec configuration (H.264/H.265), passthrough systems, and cross-device UX — serving as the primary interface layer for all streaming clients
  • Lead developer on the Hub Client, a cross-device XR app launcher — app catalog, SSE handling, database management, and multi-vendor release pipelines
  • Developed native Android C++/JNI integrations for standalone XR headsets, contributing to runtime performance and device-specific optimizations
  • Built the Web client from scratch with JavaScript and WebSockets — XR streaming in the browser, no install required
  • Unified Android build variants into CI pipelines and built internal Python tooling for PR automation and git-based validation

contexture

A discipline loop for working with AI coding agents — an architectural-rule corpus, safety hooks, and a memory store wired into Claude Code. Write a rule once; it loads before relevant code and audits after. Built around a propose-confirm collaborator principle: nothing changes silently.
